Experience

A core belief of Evans Lake is that when you leave you bring back with you a deeper knowledge and admiration of the forest and environment that surrounds us. One of the best ways to learn however is by having fun and getting your hands dirty. Daily courses are held in the forest and include stream rehabilitation, shelter building, erosion reduction, animal conservation, and general forest management.

Now more than ever, it is important that we learn about the green world that surrounds us, and the dangers of poor environmental practices.

What's more, Evans Lake is a perfect place to learn how to be a leader. Through regular daily interactions, or our leadership training camp, our Summer Camp can offer a place to develop key skills that will be important in whichever career path lies ahead. A large percentage of campers return to become volunteers and staff where they can further develop their newly acquired leadership skills.

This core value encompasses two of Evans Lake Forest Education Society objectives -

1. Our goal is to provide educational opportunities that broaden personal understandings and relationships between youth and forest ecosystems.

2. To promote safe and healthy personal growth and leadership development opportunities for children and youth in an outdoor environment at the Evans Lake Forestry Centre,
