Explore Summer Camp at Evans Lake

Evans Lake Forest Education Centre is remote yet accessible and of course unspoiled, pristine, and yours to discover. Our Summer Camp balances opportunities for learning with ample time for play and adventure.

Sessions are specially designed with ages, skill level and interests of the campers in mind. Most sessions include an overnight hike to a mountain lake or another local and memorable destination. Each year Evans Lake offers a full summer camp program with sessions for campers aged 8-12 years, 13-16 years, as well a Leadership Training Camps, and wilderness based Outdoor Adventure Kamps (OAK). Evans Lake has been a destination for campers seeking summer programs with a difference since 1960. Our Eco Fun Forest Education programs are designed to teach campers about trees, soils, wildlife, outdoor skills and leadership.

Other than a few simple basics, all you really need to bring is a open mind and a sense of discovery! Allow our knowledgeable staff to help ignite your passion for the great outdoors.

  

Sample 6 Day Camp Schedule

Rec. Time Activities- Swimming, Canoeing, Paddleboarding, Archery, Rock Climbing, Field Games, Arts and Crafts, Board Games, Volleyball
 

Duties- After each meal, cabin groups gather to help do 'tasks' or 'duty' around camp.  These include tidying up the faciliities while getting some cabin bonding time.

Gophers- During each meal, a cabin group will help set up the dining hall for the rest of the camp, these helpers are called Gophers.  The Gopher sits at the head of each table and ensures that the table is fully stocked.  At the end of the meal, the Gopher also helps clear and clean the table.  But do not fret, campers only do this job a couple times in a week and the rest of the table always creatively 'thanks' the Gopher!

B.O.S.S. Time- B.O.S.S. stands for Butts On Something Soft.  It is an acronyn for rest time with your cabin after lunch time.  Usually campers return to their bunk to do quieter activities and get some much needed rest.

HBR- Horseback Riding Session
